Hollywood Walk of Fame honors Tupac Shakur posthumously 2023
On June 7, 2023, in Los Angeles, self-made millionaire Tupac Shakur earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The rapper was honored 27 years after his death.
2Pac’s sister, Sekyiwa ‘Set’ Shakur, accepted the star and said it was always his ambition to have a Hollywood star. “He knew he wanted a star on the Walk of Fame from the first time he stepped foot on this stage of the Apollo Theatre at 13 years old, before anyone recognized his name,” she added.
“Now we gather here today to unveil Tupac’s star, which not only honors his music industry contributions but also speaks volumes to his lasting impact on this world. We’re honoring a star today. “But we’re honoring his work and passion to make his dreams come true,” she continued.
The Walk of Fame waited for Tupac’s family to choose a date for his 2013 honor.
He’ll also get a street in Oakland named after him, insiders said.
