The forthcoming film “The Storyteller,” starring Paresh Rawal and Adil Hussain, will kick off the London Indian Film Festival on June 22 at BFI Southbank in London. The film is adapted from the short tale “Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro,” which was written by the illustrious director Satyajit Ray.
Previously, India was rewarded with awards for this picture in illustrious film festivals such as the Busan picture Festival, the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), and the International Film Festival of India.

“The Storyteller,” which has already been hailed in Busan, Palm Springs, IFFI, and IFFK, has emerged as an appropriate homage to the maestro Satyajit Ray on the occasion of the centennial of his birth,” said the director of the film, Ananth Mahadevan.
The narrative of the film recounts the story of a wealthy businessman who retains the services of a storyteller to assist him in overcoming his sleeplessness. As the film progresses, the story takes on increasingly fascinating turns.
In the original Bengali, the title of this short tale is Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro, and it was written by Ray as part of a series of stories that he penned centered on the mysterious figure Tarini Khuro, whom he had invented.
“It is therefore a source of pride and rather pleasing that Europe’s greatest independent film festival has granted it the title of Opening Film at the London Indian Film Festival. “The Storyteller,” which was directed by Ray and was based on one of his own short stories, “evokes the master’s subtle touch and harks back to the era of pure cinema,” said the director.
The London Indian Film Festival is scheduled to take place from the 22nd to the 29th of June.
Jio Studios is the company that is presenting the movie, and it was made in collaboration with Purpose Entertainment and Quest Films.
