After Miss Universe Philippines tilt, Michelle Dee and Pauline Amelinckx remain friends 2023
Pauline Amelinckx, a fan favorite, has only kind words for Michelle Dee, who won the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
Despite their followers’ claims of a rigged battle, Dee and Amelinckz were friendly in their first post-coronation event.
Michelle earned her luck. She excelled. “I’m happy for my team, too,”
Dee was pleased the pageant was done. “It was three months. Pageants are emotional rollercoasters. “It feels like a dream after coronation night,” she remarked.
Amelinckx told reporters at the MUPh victory party after the coronation night on May 13 that she was excited to see Dee participate in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year.
“Michelle, I’m proud of you,” Amelinckx said Dee. I saw your blood, sweat, and tears, and we shared that trip. I know how hard you fought for this and how well you would represent the Philippines.”
“And maybe if El Salvador has sponsors, we could cheer you in real life,” she continued.
The winning celebration awarded Amelinckx Miss Supranational Philippines. She will represent the nation in Miss Supranational 14. “Apparently I’m going to Poland, in July,” she said.
The Belgian-Filipino host and Bohol beauty is excited about each other’s overseas missions. Dee, we’ll support you. “It’ll be another beautiful year where we share beautiful experiences and make a difference,” Amelinckx remarked.
Krishnah Gravidez, Miss Charm Philippines from Baguio, denied rumors of a fight amongst the new queens. “We are happy with each other’s achievements because being on that stage is a huge achievement.”
Gravidez will now strive to beat Annabelle McDonnell’s first runner-up finish at the inaugural Miss Charm pageant earlier this year and win the global title for the Philippines in the international pageant’s second staging in Vietnam next year.
Amelinckx will strive to become the second Filipino Miss Supranational 10 years after Mutya Datul won the Europe-based contest. Johannes Rissler will represent the Philippines in the sixth Mister Supranational pageant in Poland.
After Christine Opiaza and Angelique Manto were named first- and second-runners-up, respectively, and the hosts were about to crown the new Miss Universe Philippines, the three titleholders held hands.
The pageant’s prior editions only had the last two ladies on stage before announcing the winner, therefore it was surprising. Host Xian Lim revealed that the two other females whose names would not be called will receive their titles separately.
Gravidez stated, “I was just closing my eyes, praying that whoever is deserving, give it to her. I’m pleased for Michelle.”
Steve Harvey.
Another news startled the audience. Lim revealed that all 18 semifinalists would return for the evening gown phase and compete for the Final Five after the Top 10 are determined. The presenter stated technological issues forced organizers to use hand tabulations.
The first odd event occurred early in the evening when announcer Alden Richards made a “Steve Harvey” blunder and named the wrong special award recipient. He phoned Jannarie Zarzoso, who was meant to win “Face of Social Media,” instead of Shayne Glenmae Maquiran.
The Miss Universe Philippines pageant’s fourth edition is the 2023 edition. The organization has never crowned Philippine delegates to three international tournaments.
