Andre Agassi and Brooke Shields “never” Reunited: People think differently 2023
Brooke Shields is excellent now.
Her 57-year-old face is still captivating. Her marriage to TV writer Chris Henchy is in its third decade. She loves her daughters Rowan, 19, and Grier, 16. She’s filming a Thai rom-com with Benjamin Bratt.
That’s in contrast to Shields’ turbulent, scrutinized, and sometimes traumatic existence as a model.
“Beautiful Baby: Brooke Shields,” a two-part Hulu documentary, covers her nude scenes at 11, her relationship with her alcoholic mother/manager Teri, postpartum depression, and a casting meeting rape.
Nonetheless, several Shields were reinforced.
“You hear stories of so many young people who fall prey to addiction and lose their way,” she adds. “I’m amazed I avoided those traps. Yet, caring for an alcoholic showed me what I didn’t want to become.”

She worries about females “oversexualizing themselves.”
“Beautiful Baby: Brooke Shields,” which premiered at Sundance Film Festival this year, is named after the 1978 Louis Malle picture that made Shields famous as a prostitute. Shields worries that self-posted TikTok videos have worsened women’s sexualization.
“Although we may have made progress as a culture in the sense that the narrative from girls now is ‘I’m determining what I put out there’ in those videos, there is honestly a whole other level of sexualization that to me seems worse than what I felt as a youngster,” she adds. “I was sexually ignorant. Yet these young females are oversexualizing themselves.”
Brooke Shields does not regret not reporting her Hollywood meeting rape.
A trusted individual raped Shields in Los Angeles at a role meeting. In the film, the actress says she didn’t disclose the 20s attack. It’s pre-#MeToo.
“I couldn’t have felt heard or that it wouldn’t devastate me. I was struggling because folks my age weren’t getting cast. I couldn’t risk it. It took me this long to accept it.”
Despite Shields put the rape behind her, she still wants to rekindle meaningful connections.
Brooke Shields reconnected with Michael Jackson, while Andre Agassi stays distant.
She also reestablished her bond with Michael Jackson, which was based on their common early stardom struggles. Jackson indicated they were dating, which she denies.
“My bond with Michael endured,” she says. 50-year-old vocalist died in 2009. “He was the first to contact me after my father, Revlon CEO Francis Shields, died in 2003, and he congratulated me on my first daughter (in 2003). He celebrated me.”
Shields’ 1997–1999 marriage to tennis great Andre Agassi hasn’t recovered. Agassi married Steffi Graf. In the documentary, Agassi is supportive yet envious.
Casting ambitions? ‘Hacks’ guest appearance
Shields seldom looks back. She’s “ready to work from the minute I get up,” whether she’s preparing for her Asia shoot or a guest-starring appearance on Emmy-winning comedy “Hacks.”
“I enjoy all types of programs, but ‘Hacks’ to me is wonderful, since it’s very much my area of humor,” adds Shields, whose sitcom “Suddenly Susan” aired from 1996 to 2000. “I’d want to join. A version of myself?”
The happy Shields.
