Chris Hemsworth denies retiring and calls sabbatical allegations “overly dramatic.” 2023
Chris Hemsworth, a well-known actor best known for his role as Thor in the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was previously in the news due to retirement rumors.
The actor’s inherited susceptibility to Alzheimer’s disease led to the assumption that he would shortly retire from acting. According to reports, Chris Hemsworth discovered the opportunities while working on the National Geographic program Limitless.
However, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Extraction 2 actor put the rumors to rest, elaborated on his brief absence from the big screen, and made it clear that he has no intentions to retire in the near future.
Hemsworth then clarified that the ‘over-dramatized’ headlines had exaggerated the situation
“I was exhausted, and I wanted to be at home with my family,” said the actor, explaining his decision to take a hiatus from acting. Chris Hemsworth disclosed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he was taking a leave of absence due to a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s.
“That experience and that performance made me realize, ‘Wow, none of us are invincible,'” she said. It sort of thrusts you into the present. You begin to ponder larger issues, and you think, ‘I need to calm down and savor the present moment without letting the years fly by,'” he continued.
“It was a positive in that regard, but it was somewhat exaggerated as if I was contemplating retirement due to this issue. Which is not the situation,” the Thor actor affirmed. “My only concern was to avoid manipulating it, overdramatizing it, and turning it into a cheesy attempt at empathetic appeal or whatever for entertainment purposes. “It’s not like my resignation was handed to me,” he concluded.
In 2020’s Extraction 2, a sequel to the action film Extraction, the renowned actor returned to the big screen. Chris Hemsworth recently commented on his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his upcoming role as Thor, stating that he wants the fifth film to be ‘unpredictable’ in contrast to Thor 4, which was far too’silly.’ He did acknowledge, however, that the initiative had not yet experienced any official developments.
