Olivia Colman in discussions for ‘Paddington 3’ 2023
Olivia Colman, recipient of an Academy Award, is in negotiations to join the ensemble of the third installment of the popular British film series ”Paddington”.
Antonio Banderas, Rachel Zegler, and Emily Mortimer are also in discussions to join the threequel, titled ”Paddington in Peru,” according to the entertainment news source Deadline.
Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, and Imelda Staunton are in discussions with Studiocanal to reprise their roles in the upcoming film.
Dougal Wilson, known for his work as a commercial and music video director, will make his directorial début with this production, which will be filmed in the United Kingdom, Peru, and Colombia.
Ben Whishaw voices Paddington and Imelda Staunton Aunt Lucy.
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by British author Michael Bond, the film series follows Paddington, an anthropomorphic bear who migrates from the forests of Peru to the streets of London and is adopted by the Brown family.
Paddington will embark on a new excursion that will transport him from Windsor Gardens to Peru in “Paddington in Peru.”
Paddington will return to Peru to see his adored Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. When a mystery propels the Brown Family on an unexpected voyage through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru, an exhilarating adventure ensues.
The third installment was written by ”Paddington” collaborators Paul King, Simon Farnaby, and Mark Burton, along with Jon Foster, James Lamont, and Mark Burton.
It will be produced by David Heyman, Rosie Alison, and Rob Silva, who will also serve as a co-producer.
