Sam Pang has been named the 63rd TV WEEK Logie Awards presenter 2023
As TV prepares for its annual “night of nights,” the Logies presenter for 2023 has been revealed.
The famous awards night returns to Seven on Sunday, July 30.
Channel 7 airs Logies 2023.
7Bravo on 7plus streams the world’s top reality, entertainment, and true crime series for free.
The Front Bar’s Sam Pang will host, breaking a long tradition of guest hosts.
After 11 years, Sam will host the Logies alone.
Sam, Mick Molloy, and Andy Maher co-host The Front Bar.
He also appeared on Have You Been Paying Attention?, spoke on the Eurovision Song Contest, and co-hosted Chrissy, Sam & Browny on Nova 100 with Chrissie Swan and Jonathan Brown.
Sam, Mick Molloy, Lawrence Mooney, and Marty Sheargold traveled as The Comedians.
“It’s a huge honour to be asked to host the Logies and while it will be weird not having a buzzer or beer in front of me, hopefully I’m up to the challenge,” Sam added.
“I feel very lucky to be part of this industry and can’t wait for July 30 in Sydney to celebrate Australian television on its night of nights and guide viewers at home through the entire four-hour broadcast.”
“He found himself up on stage and stole the entire show with his wry and witty asides,” said Seven Network’s Chief Content Officer for Entertainment Programming, Angus Ross.
“We are thrilled audiences will get even more of Sam Pang on Seven as he steers the ship across the whole night with his genuine affection for the industry, past and present, alongside his trademark humour,” he added.
Sunday’s 63rd TV WEEK Logie Nominations will be unveiled at 7am at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art.
Sydney Logies
After decades in different places, the awards night will return to Sydney in 1986.
“The time was right to find a new home for the Logies and bringing them back to Sydney after more than 30 years made perfect sense,” said James Warburton, Seven West Media Managing Director and CEO.
“Australia’s TV networks and many major production companies are based in Sydney and the city provides a backdrop for some of the country’s most popular TV shows.”
In September 2022, Are Media and Seven struck a long-term broadcast partnership.
“The TV WEEK Logie Awards remains the most anticipated event of the year for the television industry as we celebrate the most popular stars and shows on our screens,” said Are Media CEO Jane Huxley.
In 1986, Daryl Somers received the Gold Logie at Bert Newton’s penultimate Sydney awards event.
Australia’s #1 overall TV network will host TV’s most distinguished and glamorous event.
