Swizz Beatz suspects Alicia Keys dislikes $500K Virigil Abloh Maybach gift 2023
Swizz Beatz regrets giving his wife, Alicia Keys, a limited-edition Maybach costing over $500,000.
Swizz Beatz and Angie Martinez addressed his almost two decades in hip hop, artificial intelligence, community resources, and more in a recent interview.
The presenter discussed his $500,000 limited edition Virgil Abloh-inspired Maybach gift to Alicia and her reaction. Swizz thinks his wife hates the automobile, even though she won’t confess it.
The artist mentioned that his wife, Alicia Keys, is extremely nice.
“I don’t think she liked the goddam car,” he remarked before Martinez pointed out that the singer didn’t appear “flashy” either.
He says the gift is “still at the dealership” because of social media criticism to his extravagant gifts to Alicia, who drives and collects vehicles.
He continued: “I know she was already thinking ‘are they gonna be on me if I bring the kids to school in this? Will others notice my movements? She probably started thinking that way with it. She was polite.”
Abloh, who died in November 2021, created the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S680, which was debuted at a vehicle exhibition in December.
Swizz Beatz sent Alicia Keys another pricey gift. He gave the singer an elaborate Egyptian-themed chain in July.
The pendant, designed by legendary jeweler Eliantte, has baguette diamonds in the style of ancient pyramids and a depiction of the R&B icon inspired by 18th-century ancient Egyptian queen Nerfiti.
The Eliantte released a video of Alicia trying on the chain while visitors took photographs in astonishment.
