Star Wars Reveals Zeb’s Post-Rebels Fate 2023
Finally, Star Wars has revealed what happened to Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios following the conclusion of Star Wars Rebels. The animated television series Star Wars Rebels by Lucasfilm introduced viewers to a rebel cell stationed on the planet Lothal, which was subsequently absorbed by the larger Rebel Alliance.
Given that the gang was working before the first Death Star – before the first rebel triumph – they were doomed to fail. One of them, the Jedi Kanan Jarrus, made the ultimate sacrifice, and his pupil, Ezra Bridger, was lost in the Unknown Regions. Its leader, Hera Syndulla, participated in the battle of Endor.
Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios, a Lasat rebel who played a crucial role in battling the Empire on Lothal, has remained mostly unknown. Given the Empire’s attempted annihilation of his people, he was a well skilled soldier who had a strong hatred for it. No one anticipated Zeb to sit out the remainder of the Galactic Civil War, and following the conclusion of Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars is now clarifying his place in the galaxy.
Star Wars Rebels revealed Zeb escaped the battle and transported former Imperial spy Kallus to Lira San, the Lasat’s lost homeworld.
It was a touching conclusion, as Kallus had participated in the attempted genocide of the Lasat before betraying the Empire and joining the rebellion. The Mandalorian season 3, episode 5 introduces a live-action Zeb after this event (still voiced by his Star Wars Rebels voice-actor Steve Blum). It indicates that Zeb has returned to the New Republic.
Zeb is one of the New Republic pilots stationed at Adelphi, a planet on or near the Outer Rim that has become a major X-wing patrol base for the New Republic. After the collapse of the Empire, these pilots were located far from the galactic core, and they appear to have had a far deeper awareness of the upheaval on the Outer Rim. The power vacuum left by the Empire’s collapse was never filled by the demilitarizing New Republic.
Explaining Zeb’s Future in Star Wars
The live-action introduction of Zeb in The Mandalorian season 3, episode 5 is likely the beginning of a new character arc. Lucasfilm is planning a variety of spinoffs set in the same era as The Mandalorian; Zeb was apparently supposed to be a member of the now-defunct Rangers of the New Republic, but he might be readily repurposed for Ahsoka.
Rosario Dawson portrays the title character, Ahsoka Tano, who was recast from Star Wars Rebels for the live-action adaptation. Zeb was particularly close to Ezra Bridger, therefore he would naturally want to assist in the search for the missing Jedi Padawan.
