Filming Dave Season 3 Was A Cross-Country Tour For Lil Dicky 2023

Dave” has been off the air for a few years, but FX’s hilarious and brilliant series about rapper Lil Dicky, aka Dave Burd, is finally returning with a third season in the near future.

Lil Dicky recently chatted with Consequence in advance of the third season of “Dave.” During the interview, the rapper/actor was asked how he approached writing the third season of the fictitious account of his real-life career.

“I desired a change of pace, something a little different. In contrast to the prior two seasons, where you were in Los Angeles, you will witness us starting our tour. Almost every episode in season takes place in Texas, then Atlanta, then Philadelphia, and eventually Mississippi. And each location is so culturally and aurally distinct that every story is so unique. That allows each episode to have its own tone, which is quite exciting.”

While “Dave” may not be an accurate depiction of Lil Dicky’s career, it has been an honest, funny, and very authentic feeling piece about being a musician in the modern era.

Also, as Burd mentioned in the quote, the show has been primarily centered on Los Angeles up to this point. Traveling to other locations across the country, such as Texas or Philadelphia, offers ripe story opportunities.

Season 3 of “Dave” premieres on April 5, 2023.
