Blake Shelton Roasted and Smooched at Hollywood Walk of Fame 2023
On Friday, Blake Shelton, country music legend and coach on NBC’s “The Voice,” was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Shelton’s wife Gwen Stefani, erstwhile juror Adam Levine, and “The Voice” host Carson Daly attended the ceremony.
Throughout the ceremony, Shelton was both lauded and ridiculed by the guest speakers. Daly, in particular, drew cues from the Friars Club for his humorous approach to his speech. He quipped that Shelton dislikes Hollywood and that he would never see the star again after the ceremony. Daly also shared some interesting information about Shelton, such as the fact that he has 28 No. 1 singles, 17 of which are about deceased dogs.
Six years ago, Levine spoke at Shelton’s star induction ceremony. He also made light of the fact that Shelton was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2017, four years after Levine held the title. However, Levine concluded his address on a heartfelt note, expressing his affection for Shelton and congratulating him on his accomplishment.

Stefani, on the other hand, dialed down the satire by speaking about Shelton’s humble beginnings in Oklahoma and his passion of country music. She noted that he was destined to be a star and has remained loyal to himself throughout his career.
Shelton also made humorous remarks during the ceremony, noting that obtaining a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was not one of his goals as an aspiring vocalist from Oklahoma. He expressed gratitude to his manager, Narvel Blackstock, for convincing him to remove his cowboy headdress and shave his mullet.
Shelton also expressed his affection for Stefani and dedicated his Walk of Fame star to his late sibling Richie at the conclusion of the ceremony.
