Chloe Bailey Says Beyoncé “Gave Me Notes” on Her Debut Album “In Pieces” 2023

Chloe Bailey is one of the few musicians who can claim that the Grammy winner with the most awards in history advised them on their debut album. At the première of her new film Praise This, the 24-year-old vocalist disclosed that Beyoncé listened to In Pieces, Bailey’s brand new solo album, before its release and provided constructive feedback that any aspiring artist would kill for.

When queried by ET if the “Break My Soul” singer had heard In Fragments, Bailey responded, “Yes, I know she listened to the album.” She provided me with feedback before I published it.

“I absolutely adore her,” Bailey continued. “I am indebted to her for everything, and I hold her in the highest regard.”

Bey and Bailey have been companions for years, and Bey has served as Bailey’s mentor since 2015. The Ivy Park founder took notice of Chloe and her sister, Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey, in 2014 after they covered “Beautiful Hurts” from Beyoncé’s 2013 album. Bey later signed the duo to her management company, Parkwood Entertainment.

Queen B presented Chloe and Halle with the Emerging Star Award at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, exclaiming about how “proud” she was of the sisters. Bey continued at the time, “You’ve done this with authenticity, grace, and raw talent, and you manage to radiate in every room you enter, and I’ll always adore you.”

“I’m so grateful to her for everything,” the Praise This star gushed about her iconic mentor.

Chloe x Halle have released three albums since Beyoncé took them under her wing: 2017’s The Two of Us, 2018’s The Kids Are Alright, and 2020’s Ungodly Hour. The elder Bailey launched her solo career in 2021 with her debut single “Have Compassion.”

Bailey also discussed her current emotions following the March 31 release of In Fragments. “I was so anxious, but now I’m at ease,” the Swarm actress admitted. “I’m ecstatic that it’s out. I was able to convey everything I wanted, and I hope the audience gained a deeper understanding of Chloe.”
