“I dug it up!” Shawn Johnson discusses what happened to her Olympic gold 2023

Shawn Johnson had her gold medal from the Olympics buried somewhere in her property.

The retired gymnast, who is 31 years old and earned a silver medal at the Summer Olympics in China in 2008 as well as a silver medal as part of Team USA’s women’s artistic gymnastics team for their performance, chose to get rid of her honorific discs by burying them in the yard for reasons that are known only to herself.

She told UsWeekly, “I buried my Olympic medals in my backyard!” without providing any justification or context for her statement.

In the meantime, the former contestant on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ went on to reveal that her “ideal comfort food” is pancakes with butter and syrup, but that she has a hidden talent for baking and “loves” having home-cooked breakfast, and that she ends the week by having takeout with her family.

She has two children, Drew, two, and Jett, 23 months, with her husband, former MFL player Andrew East, 31.

She continued by saying, “Pancakes topped with butter and syrup are the ultimate comfort food for me.” Baking, hosting a killer game night or party, and delivering thoughtful gifts are some of my best-kept secrets.

I adore breakfast. Waffles, a hearty scramble with bacon, or breakfast sandwiches made with sweet potato biscuits and eggs are some of my favorite things to prepare in the kitchen. But on Sundays, you can find me ordering takeaway and having a movie night with [my family].”

“On Saturday nights, you can find me grilling poolside with our infants while a sports game [is playing] in the background, but on Sundays, you can find me eating takeout and having a movie night with [my family].”

In addition to this, Shawn went on to disclose that if she could spend time with her family anywhere, it would be in Africa, where she could take her children on safari and show them the “extraordinary wildlife” that lives there.

She said, “I cannot wait to visit Africa!” I can’t wait till the day when I can take my children to experience the incredible variety of local animals.
