Kelly McCreary leaves Grey’s 2023
The medical drama has been running for nine seasons, and the actress, who is now 41 years old and has portrayed the role of Dr. Maggie Pierce throughout those nine seasons, will make her final appearance as a series regular on April 13.
On Instagram, Kelly wrote the following: “Nine seasons, two hundred episodes, hundreds of courageous operations, thousands of courageous patients, dozens of delightful sister house scenes, one episode with my real-life sister, some loss and some grief, a few ghostly visitations from mothers, a handful of boyfriends, two gorgeous weddings, a bunch of drunken emotional breakdowns, one high-speed chase, several awkward dinner parties, one punch taken (one punch thrown), at least one pratfall, buckets of tears, innumerable fits of laughter, Such an adventure! emojis representing tears, a heart, and a prayer“
Kelly has expressed her gratitude to the producers of the show, saying that she has thoroughly enjoyed her time on the drama.
In a statement, the actress said the following: “After nine seasons, it’s time for me to say goodbye to Maggie Pierce and the rest of her family at Grey Sloan. Being a part of such a venerable and historic piece of television history as “Grey’s Anatomy” has been an incredible privilege for me.
“I will be eternally grateful to Shonda Rhimes, Krista Vernoff, and ABC for the chance, as well as to the great fans for their ardent support during the whole season.
“It is a unique blessing to have the opportunity to spend nine years researching a character thoroughly while simultaneously reaching an audience all around the world with emotionally moving tales. It has provided me with the chance to work with a wide variety of exceptionally talented artists, learn from them, and draw inspiration from them, whether they are in front of or behind the camera.”
