Aaron Carter Documentary Explores Late Star’s Life, Struggles, and Death 2023
The one-hour special will be titled Aaron Carter: The Little Prince of Pop and will debut on Hulu for the first time on Monday, May 1. It promises to delve into the late singer’s rise to fame as a preteen idol in the early 2000s with hits such as “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It),” “That’s How I Beat Shaq,” and “I Want Candy,” as well as his years of mental health struggles, addiction, and his death in November 2022.
Interviews with other people who were close to Carter throughout his life will also be included in the documentary. These people include Carter’s fiancée Melanie Martin, his best friend and manager Taylor Helgeson, AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys, and Carter’s former publicist Phil Lobel.

Christy Carlson Romano, who plays Kim Possible, will also make an appearance in the documentary to provide insight into the demands of child celebrity. Additionally, Dr. Travis Stork, a former host of the syndicated talk show The Doctors, will comment on his efforts to assist the young singer through his battles with addiction.
Carter’s autopsy results were released earlier this month by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, who ruled his death as accidental and revealed the late star drowned in his bathtub after taking a lethal combination of difluoroethane (the gas used in cans of compressed air) and alprazolam (the generic form of Xanax). The coroner also ruled that Carter’s death was an accident.
Martin, who shares custody of their son Prince Lyric with Carter, stated that she was unable to make sense of the findings of the autopsy. She issued a statement to TMZ shortly after the news was made public in which she stated that the results provided “not closure” and that they left her with “more questions.”
