On May 3, SM Entertainment unexpectedly announced Kai’s military service. Kai planned the group reunion, but he had to travel to the Army Training Centre on May 11th due to a Military Administration rule change.

On June 1, EXO members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin demanded an unfair slavery contract from SM Entertainment and told them that the exclusive contract had been dissolved owing to the inability to deliver settlement data.

As Chenbaeksi and SM disagreed, EXO’s full comeback became more uncertain, but both parties wanted EXO to continue making music videos and reality shows. CBX and SM resolved the disagreement after 20 days, benefiting EXO.
