Last year, the 33-year-old pop star was diagnosed with the condition, which causes a hormonal imbalance. She has since explained that the health issues have caused her fluctuating weight, but she is determined to “stay positive.”
During an appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ on Thursday (25.05.23), she stated, “I went to the doctor last year, and they diagnosed me with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which a lot of women have but don’t know about.
“It is one of the primary reasons why women acquire weight and become obese. I genuinely gained 30 or more pounds in a short period of time. But we must be optimistic and only show people affection.”
Bebe Rexha acquired 30 pounds after her polycystic ovary syndrome diagnosis.
Bebe asserted she was disheartened by the negative remarks about her changing appearance and stated that trolls have no idea what public figures go through in private.
She continued, “Listen, we’re in the public eye, so this is inevitable. I was significantly leaner and gained some weight; such is the nature of the beast. It’s true, so I’m not angry about it, but when you see things like that, it does disturb you.
“It’s difficult because you don’t know what someone is going through, what they’re going through in their life. But I feel like it’s 2023, and we shouldn’t be discussing people’s weight. Listen … I like to consume, okay? I like to consume.”
It comes after Bebe previously confessed she was “upset” that her weight was being discussed on TikTok and implored followers to “stop judging” each other based on their physique.
She told PEOPLE, “You have no idea what someone is going through or what their healthy physique looks like. We must cease evaluating others. Because I am in the public eye, I cannot be angry, but it is cruel. It hurts my emotions and is discouraging because I’m always striving to be the best version of myself, but I struggle with my food and similar issues. It can be difficult at times because, as previously stated, a b**** enjoys food. I’ve attempted every diet, and it boils down to attempting to live the healthiest lifestyle possible.”
