Pedro Zamora rose to prominence after starring in the reality TV show ‘The Real World: San Francisco’ in 1994. This program was the first of its type to depict a person facing a sickness in real life, and it was the reason for Pedro Zamora’s rise to stardom.

According to The Advocate, Zamora (second from right to left) was diagnosed with HIV when he was 17 years old, and ever since then, he has devoted a significant amount of his time to educating others about HIV and AIDS.

Pedro passed away on November 11, 1994, at the age of 22, having been diagnosed with progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, a brain infection that affects the substance that insulates neurons. He had been suffering from this condition for four years.

The fact that he had been diagnosed with AIDS led to the infection in his instance. The actor passed away just a few hours after the last episode of ‘Real World’ aired.
