Sonya Deville Enjoyed Chelsea Green’s ‘Full Circle’ Moment At WWE WrestleMania 39 2023
Chelsea Green found Carmella to be someone she could trust and relate to during her comeback to WWE earlier this year. Once considered a lock to compete in the women’s four-way tag team showcase contest at this year’s WrestleMania, the duo saw Carmella replaced by Deville in a qualifying match. The final position in the fight would go to Green and Deville, giving them a taste of the past.
Sonya Deville’s substitution in a bout at WrestleMania 39 resulted in a satisfying comeback.
Deville recently revealed on “It’s Mike Jones” that he and Chelsea “had a crazy full circle moment” since they both tried out for the first season of “WWE Tough Enough” at the same time. I was cast, and she was an original cast member who was later cast as an alternate.
Then she changed course, and I was signed. To be back in the arena as a tag team at WrestleMania eight years later felt like the strangest form of nostalgic full circle.
Deville, though, is still with the firm after “Tough Enough” sent them in opposite ways. Green, on the other hand, left WWE for a while to compete on the indie circuit until coming back in 2018. At the tail end of 2020, she was promoted to the major league roster, but an injury and subsequent release in April 2021 cut her tenure there short. Green dominated the independent circuit once more before making his return to WWE this year, this time under Triple H’s direction.
